Cederberg Fastpack 2024: Route

Overview

This option really gets us deep into the Southern Cedeberg. The first day takes us South via the Maltese cross into the next valley and a summit of Apollo Peak. We will drop bags at the bottom, and come back down to camp near Disa Pools.

The second day will be the biggest, and also allows for people to summit Sneeuberg (without a pack) if they are keen. That will split the group up, but Duiwelsgat is beautiful and straight - and we’re all ending at Algeria, so it would be a safe place to split up. The stronger runners will be at the back which is also better. This is a must do run - it’s a crazy beautiful area.

Third day is just a blissful contour climb up that beautiful valley NW of Algeria up to Middleberg hut. Then up to Cyrstal pools for the last night - it’s just such a perfect campsite. It may be busy but there is always space.

The last day is a direct route back to Algeria. With the option of either the waterfall or cascade pools.
