The only certainty in a relationship with another human is that everything is going to change:
- Our personalities will change
- Our interests will change
- Our physical appearance will change
- The world will change
- Societal norms will change

A partner is not someone who you find and try and lock in time, preserving their personality traits or youthful looks. A partner is someone who will accompany you through time on a journey where everything slowly changes until even the memory of who you both where when you met is different from the truth. I donβt mean to make it sound scary - nature is change, we are change, we will go through this change alone whether we like it or not; how beautiful to be able to do it with someone else.

Change can incite fear. The antidote for fear is often clarity. Clarity, in a partnership, is brought about through communication. Iβve kind of landed on communication being the absolute cornerstone of a relationship. Not all communication has to be verbal and linguistic, yet if two people are able to clearly communicate thoughts, ideas, emotions, sensations, biases, fears and triumphs - then I think that they have what it takes to embark on the adventure that is the transience of life, together.
